Optimized planning and production for your entire logistics network

The SAP planning software APO allows you to precisely plan and optimize complex networks of markets, production plants and distribution centers as well as customer and supplier locations taking full account of transport and production capacities as well as transport, production and replacement times.
The software includes:
- Demand Planning (DP)
for creating sales forecasts for a wide variety of areas
- Supply Network Planning (SNP)
which is used to plan the requirements of the entire logistic chain over the medium term taking full account of batch sizes, transport and processing times as well as production and transport capacities and also to create the necessary coverage elements such as order requirements and planned orders.
- Transport Load Builder (TLB)
creates transport orders on the basis of capacities, volumes, weights and slots
- Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS)
takes care of production planning and detailed scheduling extending to the machine level.
Additional components such as ATP (available to promise) provide you with online availabilities throughout the entire logistics chain and hence, beyond the boundaries of the system. The optimizer allows you to calculate the most cost-effective solution for various cost categories in the supply chain for your particular model. Extremely flexible supply chain reporting - including key performance indicators - can be set up on the basis of SAP Business Warehouse technology. An abundance of open interfaces paves the way for the integration of non-SAP systems into all processes.
