FRESUDAT®: Fast creation of individual nutrition plans
The software FRESUDAT® paves the way for the development of a nutrition program on the basis of patient data and special metabolic characteristics. It helps doctors to identify malnutrition in patients early on and assists in the creation of individual nutrition plans. This is of particular relevance for approx. 10,000 intensive care patients in Germany who are clinically nourished.
To determine the risk of malnutrition in accordance with the guidelines, the first step involves a screening with the following factors:
- BMI
- current weight loss
- current nutritional intake (compared to normal nutritional intake)
- the age of the patient
- indication-related stress load.
FRESUDAT® determines the nutritional requirements on the basis of these factors and develops a complete therapy plan in which the ratio of enteral /parenteral nourishment is defined and a product recommendation is made including details relating to the volumes that should be consumed. In a final step, the doctor can make any required adjustments to the composition of the nutrients in the program.
The software was configured using modern Java technologies and open source frameworks to ensure that FRESUDAT® is available to you free of charge:
- Jakarta Apache TomCat 5.x (Web Server)
- Jakarta Apache Struts (Web Application Framework)
- Eclipse IDE (integrated development environment)
- MySQL MaxDB (database)
A DEMO version of the software can be viewed under www.fresudat.de (restriction: the data cannot be saved). Once you have registered, a local, full version of FRESUDAT® from Fresenius Kabi will be made available to you. |
